- Streptomycin: Streptomycin is an antibiotic(antimycobacterial) drug, the first class of drugs called aminoglycosides . It is derived from actinobacterium Streptomyces griseus. It was first antibiotic remedy for tuberculosis. Streptomycin is a bactericidal antibiotic.
